Preparing for Your Mammogram
Please follow the instructions below to ensure the most accurate results and a comfortable experience during your appointment:
- Topical Products: To ensure clear imaging, do not apply lotions, deodorants or powders to the chest or underarm area on the day of your appointment, as these substances can interfere with the diagnostic quality of the test.
- Insurance Verification: We recommend contacting your insurance provider prior to your visit to verify that 3D Mammography (Tomosynthesis) is a covered benefit and to determine if any co-payments or deductibles apply.
- Appropriate Attire: Because you will be asked to undress from the waist up for the exam, you may find it more convenient to wear a two-piece outfit consisting of a top with pants or shorts.
